disable direct answer to comments

Might be useful for many people but not for everyone, because  the continuous tracking get lost, ending up in wild comment jumping to know the current (latest) status.

thanks for bringing this up and welcome to the Atlassian Community.

At the moment there is no built-in option to disable the new reply-to-comment (threaded comments) feature globally or per project, so you cannot enforce a completely flat comment stream via configuration.

If this causes confusion in your team’s comment flow, the best next step is to vote and watch the official feature request JRACLOUD-93678, which specifically asks Atlassian to make threaded comments configurable and explicitly includes an enable/disable option for this behavior.
