I want to use the roadmaps functionality to set a vision for our product and share that vision with stakeholders and be able to see progress and dependencies.

My company have both options on its Jira configuration. They have the option to use roadmaps or roadmaps by Easy Agile (screenshot attached)Screenshot 2020-07-20 at 11.22.49.png.

  • what's the difference between both options?
  • which one allow you to visualise the roadmap better?
  • are they both allowing you to capture dependencies?
  • do the changes made on the Scrum board get updated on the  both roadmap options directly?

Hi Alba,

I’m Elizabeth one of the Product Managers here at Easy Agile. It’s great to hear that you’re about to start roadmapping within Jira!

Our native app means that changes made on the scrum board are updated on the roadmap so your plan remains in sync with Jira.

Easy Agile Roadmaps gives users the flexibility to plan all issues types on to the roadmap. User stories or sub-tasks don’t need to be linked to an epic to be added to your roadmap.

With our app, you can easily add swimlanes or themes to your roadmap so work can be organised in a way that works for your team. For example, you may want to plan out issues by initiative or OKR to clearly communicate the plan to stakeholders. Please see an example below of how themes can be used to group work.

We also offer the ability to add markers to visualise fix versions, marketing events and milestones on the roadmap to align business and engineering teams around where the product is heading.

At this stage we don’t offer dependancies however it is on our radar.

Hope this helps with your decision making process. Please feel free to reach out to us via support@easyagile.com if you any additional questions.

All the best with your roadmapping journey,

Elizabeth
