creating/updating a 'select list' field using rest api?

I have a  'select list' field which changes very frequently. I wanted to add new options to it every day. Adding manually all those options every day would require lot of work. Can we add options to a select list field using rest api?

You can't update a Custom Field via program because that means you will need to update it via the JIRA API and I believe they are not available.

Thanks for reply, I have raised a support ticket too on this. Seems like it's under development. May be they will add this feature in next release of REST API. Here is the JIRA ticket for this feature: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRA-36112
