Hi,

Relatively new to Jira so sorry if this is a dumb question.

My team needs to log via Jira all of the extra tasks that we currently perform from emails, walkups, phone calls etc.

What i'd like is to be able to create a jira, enter comments/notes and then close in one step/screen.

An option i was thinking could work was to add a checkbox on the current create screen that we could check and it would close or send to UAT when the ticket is saved.

is there a way to do this?

Hi Ian, and welcome to Community!

Interesting question actually! There's a great discussion around someone else who had this same question here:

Hope this helps,
Carolyn

You can use External System Import and create, resolve issues. It would be like updating your JIRA with old tasks that has already been done. Unfortunately, commenting on them would not work for this method but I would suggest just using the Description field and add what's supposed to be a comment there.
