copying attachments from JSM request into the linked issue in JIRA Software

Vladimir Vladimirov July 1, 2021 edited

Hi Community!

I am writing to request your assistance concerning the matter of copying attachments into the linked issue

I need to configure the next functionality.

1. A customer comments his request in JSM Customer Portal and attaches a jpg-screenshot
2. This request has had a linked issue in the Jira Software project
3. We want to copy the comment from the request in JSM to the linked task in Jira Software

I've created an Automation rule.
The text of the comment has copied successfully.
However, I can see an error message "Failed to Load" instead of the attachment.

How can I configure this functionality in the most appropriate way?

Hi @Vladimir Vladimirov

This discussion includes links to the change request with the Automation team for this feature as well as a possible work around.

Another option would be to try an app like Elements Copy & Sync .If you are close to the limit of global rule executions with Automation, Copy & Sync has the advantage of not having any limitations for how many times you copy attachments between JSM and Jira software.

Hey @Vladimir Vladimirov

Were you able to solve this?

If you are open to explore other solutions. You can accomplish this sync with integration solutions like Exalate (where I collaborate)

Let me know if this helps
