copy single select custom field from epic to story with automation

hello 

we have a field of single select list A on the EPIC

I want to be able to copy it's value to the story (to the same field or either a text-field) to the stories of this epic 

1. when the stories are created and linked to this epic

2.when the field is edited in the epic to have this synced to the stories.

how can I do that?

I created 2 rules ,

1 - update the stories every time myfield is edited on Epic

using smart value {{issue.parent.myfield}} to get the value from epic to story

2. second rule to copy the value of "myfield" to "storyfield" from Epic to story on story creation 

in action edit issue field, use the same as rule 1
