configure to receive notification only from Jira Service Desk and not from Jira Software

My manager wanted to be notified whenever a ticket is created in Jira Service Desk. I edited the project settings>Notifications and added his email id to all events like Issue created etc.

Now, he started getting emails whenever a user story/task is created in Jira software and his inbox is bombarded with 500 emails. He wants to be removed from them.

If I remove one, I am not achieving the other one. How can I handle this?

please check the notification scheme in the JSW project(s). I suspect that you added him to a common group, e.g. Jira-users or whatever and that group happens to get notifications in multiple projects. To limit a user to a specific project only be sure they are not part of any group used within notifications.
