Hi,
I want to realize a user access formular in JIRA using workflows to let it move through the different departments. So each status is a department, e.g. accounting, IT, HR etc.
It's easy to set a specific assignee in a transition, but to have a quicker insight who is configured as responsible for the user access in a department I want to use components.
The idea was to set an assignee/leader for component "IT" and use the transition to assign the issue to component leader. So if it would be possible to change the component to "IT" when status "IT" is activated, the assignee would be changed automatically.
In the end I have a clear overview on the project's component site who are the responsible persons configured in the workflow.
Maybe I'm to complicated, so if you have better ideas - let me know!
Regards Phillipp
Hi @admin GBi
One Quick Info,
Use Automation instead of Components.
Components work only when you are creating an Issue.
Automation Rules help you with checking the condition and help you assign the Users correctly.
Thanks,

Hi Pramodh,
thanks for you quick reply. I just read about Project Automation on the web, but can't find it in JIRA Server (non-cloud) 8.4.2.
Do I have to activate it somewhere? I'm confused ...
Regards!
Phillipp
