Can you connect a sub task to more than one issue. If someone worked on a task for more than one issue. Could you link/attach the sub task to both issues vs creating two sub tasks?

Hi @Rebecca_Fons

No, it is not possible to connect a subtask to more than one parent since it is a strict hierarchy. You can link a issue to a unlimited number of issues.

Hello @Rebecca_Fons ,

Welcome to community!

A sub-task can only belong to one parent task. You have the parent field, which is unique and can only reference one task. What you can do instead is link a sub-task to another task through issue linking.

Hello @Rebecca_Fons ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian community.

No, in Jira Cloud, a sub-task can only belong to one parent issue. This is by design.

Thank you!
