There is no option to restore a story in Jira if you don't have a backup. You can only see the info about the deleted issue in the audit log.
The things you can do to prevent losing deleted tasks in the future:
- Disable permission for the regular users and allow it to admins only.
- Back up your projects.
- Get the app from the Atlassian Marketplace.
I can recommend Issue History for Jira, the add-on developed by my team. It has the option to recover deleted tasks. But it works only after the app is installed and the "Keep deleted issues" toggle is activated.
