automaticcaly link issues at creation using description

Hi,

We have a need to link issues at creation when they are called (by Key name) in the description or comments.

The goal is to capture data from one group (project) and link them with others.

Tried the automate at creation (trigger) using an "If-then" and "contain" {{issue.key}} with the link action (using the trigger issue).

1) Could I make it work - can automate for Jira do it?

2) Is my approach correct - how to correct it?

Hi Nicolas,

We do something similar - we clone a card when it is moved to Done and then link the cloned card to the original (trigger) card. I suspect you could do the same on Create. Here is our example:
