assign users to project

I am JIra Agile ready product. I recently added 5 new users on the admin console and would like to know how to assign users to a project? I am a new user but this should be obvious in the tool which does not seem to be.. Can some body point me to a screen where i can assign these users for my project? I think the users are still not logged in and is this the reason why it is not showing up on the assignee field on editing or adding an issue?

Go to the project admin, and add them into the roles of user and developer as required.
