I am facing an issue with my approve settings.
I set that approval is required field, but as admin I see that field is locked, and I only senect custom made that is single picker, not approver. Also if I create, I can not select approver...
My cusomers also can select only themselves when they create a ticket...
I have no idea what is an issue.
My guess from what u are describing is that when you create a ticket as an admin, the field appears locked because Jira controls it through the workflow. If you use a custom single-user picker field, it will not trigger the approval process because it is not linked to the system approval mechanism. Customers can only select themselves because the approval configuration is likely restricted to the reporter or their organization, and no additional approvers have been configured.
To make approvals work, you must configure them in the workflow approval step and link the request type to that step. Custom fields cannot replace the built-in Approval field.
