add columns to the Dashboard

I cannot add columns to the Dashboard in my project

A couple of questions as I am not sure what you are asking:

Does your answer mean you have solved the problem for yourself?
Are we talking about "boards" (associated with projects and issue data) or "dashboards" (collections of gadgets, set up by individuals for their reporting)?
Are you on Cloud or Server?
