access rights and visibility problem

Hello,

I have following situation:

epics are visible to all jira members and can be parent for bugs, stories, tasks and pl-tasks.

bugs, stories and tasks are visible for all jira-members, but the pl-tasks have a special access-right, called projectleads.

thats all working fine for us. But now, we have the problem, that the epics are not visible to jira-members. It seems, that the child give his limitations in access to the parent, but why is it not possible to show the epic with the list of childs a user is allowed to see?

What is this special access-right you mention here? How did you achieve this? Security Levels?
