Hello,
I'm facing an issue when creating a Test Execution from a Test Plan in Xray.
When clicking Create Test Execution from a Test Plan, Xray displays the following message:
"Test Execution contains required fields. Please use the Jira create issue dialog to create the new Test Execution."
Environment
- Jira Cloud
- Xray Cloud
- Issue type: Test Execution
What I have already tested
- I can create a Test Execution manually using the standard Jira "Create" dialog.
- The Test Execution is created successfully without validation errors.
- I reviewed the project's Field Configuration.
- I identified required fields and temporarily changed custom required fields to optional for testing purposes.
- The issue still occurs.
- I verified the Create Screen used by Test Execution.
- I added the suspected fields to the screen.
- The issue still occurs.
- I checked fields such as:
- Business Priority
- Team
- Sprint
- Security Level
- No blocking field could be identified.
- No Custom Test Run Fields are configured in Xray.
- The problem only occurs when creating a Test Execution from a Test Plan through Xray.
Question
Is there a way to identify exactly which field Xray considers "required" when displaying this message?
Are there any Xray-specific configurations, validators, or hidden field requirements that can trigger this behavior even when manual Test Execution creation works correctly?
Any guidance would be appreciated.
Thank you.
