XRAY- Auto fill US/Test common fields for tests execution and defects instead of doing manually?

Hello Team,

I am using X-Ray Test Management application for our cloud instance.

Auto fill US/Test related common fields for Test execution and Defects instead of doing manually every time.

When we are creating defects during Test-Execution, we need to fill common fields again and again during test execution and defect creation, which is painful.

Instead it should be filled ( Fields like Labels, Sprint, Epic, etc.) automatically.

Can it be done through Automation or by any other means? If possible, then please tell the process.

I'm not too familiar with the inner workings but as long as the Defect or Use-Story is an issue Automation should be able to fill in fields for you - either hard coded or copied from another linked issue.

Typically the rule would look like:

• On Defect create
• <Some condition>
• Edit issue action
  • Set a field to a value
  • Copy a field from the parent
