Workflow problem: Closed>Deployed in backlog but showing incomplete in Active sprints

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I go into the backlog, view old sprints, and I mark the status of all issues as "closed" then I update it again to "Deployed" to mark the task as 100% done and deployed.
Then I go to in the Active sprints view, I select a sprint with all issues marked as "deployed" and when I attempt to close the sprint, the pop-up says "0 issues were done, 30 issues were incomplete." Which is impossible because I marked them as done. This problem is happening for all sprints.
