Workflow doesn't reflect properly on the active sprint scrum board

When I go to my active sprint, I only see 3 swim lanes that defaulted from the scrum board selection. My workflow has multiple columns that I tired creating, but when they're on the board, I cannot move any of my bugs/tickets into the new columns.

I am using the 'Software Simplified Workflow for Project X' and when I try to add a transition as I thought that would be the solution, I get the error message: You cannot perform this operation on a draft workflow. I want to have multiple different columns on my board and transition bugs/tickets to any of the columns.

When you get the error message "You cannot perform this operation..." it means that you are trying to add an outbound transition from a status that don't have an existing outbound transition. Adding a new outbound transition can only be done on an inactive workflow, so you have to make a copy of the existing one, make your changes in the copied one and then associate the new workflow with your project.

If you add new statuses in the workflow it will not automatically update your boards, so you have to go into Board settings > Columns and from here you can add new columns and map your unmapped status to columns.
