I have a user story work item that is not displaying on my Kanban board. I have checked the filter query from 'all work items' and the user story is displaying. However, I cannot see on the Kanban board itself.
I have checked the work items status is part of the board columns. I tried cloning and the new work item doesn't display either.
I know this must be a issue with the story config itself, but not sure where to start. Its driving me nuts!!!
Any help or suggestions welcome - thank you!
Hello @Georgina Thwaites ,
Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)
There are few things you need to check:
1. Check Issue Status Column Mapping
Sometimes, the board is configured to show only certain issues with certain status
Go to Board Settings -> Layout -> Columns
Ensure that the status in which the concerned story is, is mapped to required column
2. Check Swimlanes
Go to Board Settings -> Swimlanes
Check how your swimlanes are grouped (e.g., by Epic, Assignee, etc.)
Then:
If grouped by Epic: make sure the story is linked to an Epic
If grouped by Assignee: make sure it's assigned
Or, temporarily change swimlanes to “None” to verify if the issue appears
3. Check for Quick Filters
At the top of the board, check if any quick filters (e.g., “Only My Issues,” “In Progress,” “Assigned”) are turned on.
Turn off all filters to see everything.
4. Check for Board's sub filter:
fixVersion in unreleasedVersions() OR fixVersion is EMPTY
Thankyou!
Hello @Shalini Pradhan
Can you provide a screen image that shows Issue Types as an option available under Board Settings? I'm not finding that.

Yes! Thank you Shalini. My work item had a fixversion erroneously associated. This is all fixed now. Thank you so much!

Do you have the Backlog feature enabled along with your Board?

Did you check if you have a constraint on the number of issues to be shown on the Kanban board. I would change that to None.
Board settings -> Layout ->Columns.

Hi Varsha - no, I don't have an issue constraint set. Thanks for the suggestion!
