Within a JIRA instance can a project' s issues be linked to issues found in a different project?

Deleted user August 9, 2018

We have a project in JIRA - ProjA.  ProjA has a number that is associated with specific issues in ProjA - call it NumA.

At some time in the future another project will be created, ProjB, that will have a number associated with specific issues in ProjB - call it NumB.

Through a process I don't yet have all of the facts to, NumB refers to NumA.

Is there a way to link NumB in ProjB to NumA in ProjA?  In essence, we are somehow linking issues that reside in 2 separate projects via these 2 numbers.

note: I would not be surprised if NumA and NumB have different formats, i.e., a different combination of characters and numbers.

ex: NumA = "NUM-"nnnn where n is a digit - NUM-1008

NumB = at this time is anyone's guess
