Withdrawing an epic doesn't withdraw associated jira/story, why?

When I withdraw a jira with Type=Epic then I expect associated jira (Type=Story) should be withdrawn too. Is there a reason this is not supported OOTB?

Hi @farhanraza10  - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It should not be assumed that just because you are deleting an Epic that you want all of the associated stories deleted as well.

Hello @farhanraza10

If by 'withdraw' you mean delete, then OOTB Jira doesn't delete child issues when you delete the parent issue.

Google "jira delete epic and all issues" to find where the same question has been asked and answered before.
