With the new updates to epic naming rolling out, it seems like there isn't a purpose to the Epic Name field anymore. Once everyone is moved over to using the Issue Summary field, will Jira keep the Epic Name field or retire it?
You might want to add that question to the Comments on the blog post that announced the changes. That might more directly get the attention of an Atlassian Team member who can provide an answer.
