Why there is a difference in count of issues in Backlog view of sprint and report?

Hi,
I have few previous open sprints to be closed from a legacy project. I see there are multiple closed issues in those sprints when I pull a JQL query, however in the Backlog view I see it is showing as 0 issues. Please help me understand why is it so or am I missing something here? Thank you.
