Why new project does not pick up the schemes it associated with?

I created a new project in Jira v.4.3.4 and associated it with the existing Field Configuration Scheme and Issue Type Screen Scheme that we use in another project. When I create a new issue in the new project I don't see some fields that I see when create issue for that other existing project. Why?

Thanks a lot! The custome filds cwere the ones I was missing. I added my new project to the context of these fields and I'm all set.
