Why is there no Dashboard button in my Global Navigation, or anywhere else?

There is no Dashboard buttons anywhere in my Jira account.  I can search under admin to get to where I can create dashboards, set defaults and I can star them, but they never show up anywhere in my account.   When I login, I go straight to the Projects page.  No Dashboard option in the global navigation or anywhere I can find.

Did you set up this site/product subscription recently? If so, how long ago?

For the other person the problem self corrected when they went back to the site/product the next day.
