Why is the table options menu not appearing?

Rob Sher

Since about 2 weeks ago, when I edit a ticket in Jira and select an existing table, I no longer get the table options menu appearing.

Sometimes it randomly does appear but mostly it doesn't which means I can't use certain features like change table alignment. It seems when I create a new table, table options always appears and so a workaround is create a new table and copy/paste the old table into the new one, but this is not a workable ongoing solution

I am using Jira Cloud in MS Edge on Windows 10 and never had this problem before.

Anyone else seen this or tips on how to fix?

Thanks

Hi @Rob Sher,

I have been able to reproduce the same behaviour. In my case, this happens when I select an existing work item and it opens up in the new popup view.

I have found a workaround to make it appear again. Near the top right of the popup, you can find a series of buttons:

The second one from the right (the one with the opposing arrows) opens the work item in the side panel of your screen. In there, the table options do appear when you select the table.

It's not great, but a workaround until this works again in the new layout.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip. We've just found another workaround is to create a brand new table and then the menu appears for existing tables in the same section. But this is obviously a bug. How do we raise this with Atlassian?

UPDATE: We have found an open bug here for it: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-98913
