Why does an issue complete when I am making updates, but I am not closing or completing an issue, just updating it?

You might have resolution on the screen and you are updating using the "Edit" operation or you have a listener that sets resolution on the "Issue Updated" event.

Hi Jobin - Thanks for the quick reply. I am using the "Edit" operation, but why would that automatically update the resolution using edit?

The resolution field automatically takes a value when it is used on screen. Open up your edit and have a look - even when you have no value set on the issue, the resolution will have a value, you can't blank it, and it will be set when you commit your edit. You need to remove it from the edit screen entirely.
