Why do the custom filter field configuration always change on all filters

I have about 10 saved filters. they are a combination of different projects, and each is different and uses different fields. I would customize the fields I want to see for each filter but some (not all which is the oddest thing) of the filters change others to the same thing. for example, I have one filter I want Fields ABCDE to show, then filter 2 I want QWERT filters to show. but when I go back to filter 1 I see fields QWERT instead of ABCDE. does anyone know why this is?

This is something I really don't find obvious in the docs or display.

It is about filter ownership and defaults.  Note that "search" and "filter" are different things.

First, look at the issue navigator - you run a new search, you adjust the fields on display, change the search and so-on.  You get what you expect, I think.  The fields you've chosen here are your personal set of fields that you'll use for any search.#

Anyone can save a search - at that point, a search becomes part of a filter.  The other parts of that filter are things like ownership and share permissions, but the thing we want to look at is any field display that is saved with it.

If a filter has no saved fields, and you visit it, you will see your issue navigator field selection.  But if the owner has saved a field layout, you will get that instead.

You can still change the layout, but that will not change the filter unless you own it and save it after the changes.

I think that's why you're seeing what you do.  You're not saving the fields with filter 1 and 2.  Possibly because you don't own the filters?
