Why do I have to do MFA every 12 hours? Sometimes both an email code and auth app code.

I am so sick and tired of Jira's MFA. Every 12 hours it challenges me again, usually emailing a code but sometimes I need to enter a code from my authentication app. And, worse, sometimes it makes me do both, one after the other. I'm not trying to get into Fort Knox here. Why does it have to be a pain? And some people I work with on the same Jira say that it has only made them do MFA twice ever. This difference in behaviour between users makes no sense and seems like a bug to me.

I would check with your Atlassian site admin/IT department. It sounds like they have configured authentication policies, either in the IdP your are using and/or on the Atlassian side.
