Why can't I move open tickets to the next sprint?

I have just started a new sprint (sprint 3), which already has tickets in the backlog, ready to go.

When I go to close the previous sprint (Sprint 2), Jira will only let me move tickets to sprint 4 and above, but I need them to into the current/next sprint (sprint 3)

Why is this happening and how do I fix it? Why doesn't sprint 3 show up in the dropdown menu to move sprint 2 tickets to?

I have tried editing sprint 3 to start later in the day, this doesn't help. I also can't delete it because that will mess up the whole roadmap. It looks like my only option is to manually copy tickets into Sprint 3 before I close Sprint 2?

Welcome to the community

As stated by the community the incomplete issue can only go to the new sprint, futur sprint or backlog and not to an open sprint
