Why can i not burn down using story points?

I am trying to configure the use of story points but i cannot burn down. I have managed to add the field to the storys/bug etc....but when choosing how to estimate, the "story points estimate" is not an option that i am able to select.

In the estimation statistic field , i only have option for ${field_story_points}, 'not story points estimation'.

Can anybody help?

Burndown chart is using only Story Points (or time estimate), and not story points estimates. You have three choices to choose from, and these are the same as the options on your board settings:

These option are the same with the ones appear on your burndown chart:

So instead of using Story Points Estimate, try using Story Points, and then your burndown chart will work. Keep in mind that Story Points on subtasks are not included in the Burndown Chart. (Only Story Points on parent tasks are included.)

Thanks for your response. Unfortunately, i cannot choose story points. I have tried to look for this in the field schemes to add this as well but it does not exist!!

Can you confirm that the Story Point field has not been permanently deleted or moved to trash?

It hasn't been moved to trash, i have checked this. 

I am unsure if it was previously deleted as i have only just started with my current employer!!!
