Why can I not play an uploaded file

Those new to the Atlassian Community have posted less than three times. Give them a warm welcome!
I have noticed that a few of my mp4 file uploads, and those of a colleague cannot be played back. It feels like the upload has failed.
Sometimes the issue can be resolved by removing and then uploading again - not ideal.
