Why can I not mention my colleague in the project (but he can mention me)?

I'm using Atlassian Cloud Jira. When I type "@firstname" I'm used to having Jira present me with users to choose from, but this is not working - it works for him with my name though. What could be the issue?

I tried to do "something" like this but I don't really know WHAT to set here and setting it to "group" didn't help.

I think you are missing the browse users global permission.

Ask your Jira Administrator to verify that for you.

Interesting how I can miss that permission while being an adminstrator myself and therefore being able to grant it to myself ...
