When I hover over a status on a SD queue i get a popup saying that I can change it "from here" but I cannot. Please see screengrab. I can't figure out what I'm missing. Can someone point me in the right direction please?Screen Shot 2018-12-10 at 16.11.01.png

Hi,

The message you see, it is just the status description. "Unassigned" is not a default Jira status for what I know. Unassigned is more a value of Assignee field, as you can see in your screen.

So, your Jira administrator should be the one who created this status with this description. I suggest you to modify this description to avoid confusion.

In any case, you will have to open the issue to change the status.

That description is a bit misleading, and I can see where it would lead one to think that the status can be changed by clicking the status name, but it cannot; you need to view the issue and use the transition buttons up top to transition and change the status. The descriptive text that you see when you hover over a status is customize-able by an admin (".", then "statuses").
