I have two kanban boards I am a part of: a service desk board and a product development board. I clone a ticket from the service desk board, link it to the original ticket, then move it to the product development board (link is still attached to the original service desk ticket). I thought I had it set up where if the new product development ticket moves around on the product development board, it would transition the original linked ticket simultaneously on the service desk board. Most of the time, this is not happening. I can't track down why.
My guess is that something is missing in your automation. Here is an example automation that transitions an issue that Jack Brickey provided. In the example it is important to note that the service desk ticket is in a specific status and is able to transition to the other status. If the criteria is not met nothing will happen.
