Why are the stories created by one user invisible to me?

Hi, ran into a weird glitch where I can see the Kanban board full of stories from 7 team members but there is an 8th team member who's stories I cannot see, even though I am a project admin.

If he sends me direct links to the stories I can see them no problem, but they will not show for me on the board view or backlog view.

I have cleared all filters. If I try to filter by assignee I don't see this user's name and searching for him comes up zero. Even though I can go to the team page and see that he's definitely in the system and a member of the team.

Everybody else in the team can see this user's stories, but not me. It's like he's blocked me or something, which I didn't think was possible?

Please help me make sense of this :-)

Hello @jim ,

Good day! Welcome to Atlassian Community :)

Board is a visual representation of the filter that its configured with. Can you try running same filter query in issue search and see if you are able to locate the work item?

Thank you!

Hi @jim ,

Welcome to Atlassian community.

A part of the board, could you see the work item in the standard list or "all works" section or not?

If not, I guess that in the project there is a security level configured and those work items you don't see have been created using that security level.

The security levels allow to set who can see or not some work items; for more info: https://support.atlassian.com/jira-cloud-administration/docs/configure-issue-security-schemes/

I hope it helps

Yes I actually can see the work items in "all works", but not "board". Nothing looks to be other than default with the security levels.

Hi Jim - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

Do any other users see that team member's stories on the board? If not, it might be an issue with the board filter. Go to the board filter and execute it in the search to see if the story shows there.

Yes all other team members can see this user's stories on the board, and there are no filters applied.

If you just use the board filter in the search area, do you see the stories?

No filter. The board view doesn't show the stories. I do see them if I switch to the "All work" tab.
