Why are some custom fields not available in Bulk Edit ?

Why are some custom fields not available in Bulk Edit ?

I have added a number of custom fields to my project but when I go to bulk edit issues only some of these are available to edit. Why are some available and some not ?

There is one in particular I want to bulk edit for a bunch of issues and for some reason it doesn't show up in the list of fields that can be edited in bulk edit.

@Fiona Brown Can you let us know which field you are trying to bulk edit and is that field "Jira System field or Custom field"?

It is a custom field called 'Product'

It just started to work for some reason - I can see it now. Maybe there was some delay for some changes to take effect before I could see it. Thanks for your reply though.
