My email notification settings are on, but I don't get email notifications when I'm assigned a ticket, when a ticket I'm assigned to has a new comment, or any email notifications at all.

Hello @Catherine Li

Welcome to the Atlassian community.

Can you share with us the details of how all your Notifications settings are set?

Notifications depend not only on your personal settings but also on the settings for Notifications in the projects. Your personal notifications take effect after the project notifications settings are applied. If the project is not configured to send notifications to Assignee for the issue events, then you would not receive any notifications.

Your first step to investigate this problem would be to contact the Project Administrator and Jira Administrator to find out if the project in question is configured to send emails to Assignee for those activities. If it is, then the next step would be for the Jira Admin to open a support case with Atlassian directly to find out if your email has been blacklisted, and to get that fixed if it has been.

Hi @Catherine Li,

Welcome to the community!

Trudy and Bibek have given you some great starting points. Here's a breakdown of what to check:

  1. Project Notification Scheme: Ask your Project Admin or Jira Admin to check if the project is set to send notifications to assignees (Project Settings > Notifications).

  2. Your Personal Notification Settings: Make sure you have email notifications enabled for the events you want (Profile > Settings > Notifications).

  3. Email Delivery Issues:

    • Check your spam folder.
    • Verify your email address in your Jira profile.
    • Ask your Jira admin to check their email server logs for any errors related to Jira notifications.

Hope this helps!

@Catherine Li ,

Welcome to the community, I would suggest checking your settings for how the notifications are set.

Best Regards,

Bibek
