Why Are "Done" Tickets Coming Into Next Sprint?

Deleted user November 11, 2021

I just wrapped up a sprint. There were a few dozen "done" tickets. When I ended that sprint (and migrated all open issues to the new sprint), the "done" tickets ALSO appeared on the new sprint board. Why is that? Can I clear these done tickets?

For example, "Ticket A" was completed in "Sprint 1" while "Ticket B" was not. I closed "Sprint 1" and told JIRA to put "Ticket B" in "Sprint 2". When I closed "Sprint 1" however, "Ticket A" (which was done), appeared as Done in "Sprint 2".

When I click on the ticket, I cannot remove the sprint either. Instead I see Sprint: "Sprint 2" with a +1 saying this was completed in another sprint?

Hello @[deleted]

Welcome to the community.

Are you working with a Company Managed project or a Team Managed project? It will say which one at the bottom of the navigation pane on the left.

For the tickets that you considered "done", were those showing up in your scrum board in the column farthest to the right? Only the issues in that column will be considered completed in the sprint.

Did the "done" tickets have any sub-tasks that were not also marked as "done"?

Is the Resolution field being set for tickets that are "done"? The Resolution value will appear next to the Status when you are viewing the ticket.

Thanks for the response. I'm in a company-managed project. I figured that, for some reason, a few of us were booted from Admin so I remedied that. That allowed me to remove some "Done" tickets from a few people but some are still unable to be removed.

The tickets I am considering done are indeed showing up on the furthest column to the right.

Resolution field is set up and this is a one off task with no subtasks.
