While linking a story to an epic or creating sub task inside an epic when we get" This issue" tab and another tab to select the issues I dont want all the options(all issues available as dropdown ) but just the same epic issue key in which i am trying to create the story or subtask. I am working on jira server version 8.5.0
How can this be achieved? Can this be done by default jira options or do we need any addon? please advice

I don't think its possible in standard Jira software.  ScriptRunner "Issue Picker" custom fields let you use JQL to limit options available... there are probably other options out there that will do something similar if you don't need all the features scriptrunner provides
