Which issues are not moved automatically to the next sprint when completing a sprint?

I have a board with the last 2 columns Accepted, and Rejected (Rejected is the last column).
When completing a sprint, the Accepted issues got moved to the next sprint, while the Rejected ones stayed.
I don't want to move neither Rejected nor Accepted, but it seems like it is always the last column issues that are not getting move, and I can't choose.
Anyone can help, please?

Thanks!

Hi @Tiberiu Mozes

For Jira Scrum boards, only issues the far right column of the board are considered "done" when a sprint is completed.

Please update your board so both status values (i.e., Accepted and Rejected) are mapped to far right column.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Tiberiu Mozes

When closing a sprint in Jira, you may be prompted to specify the actions to be taken with incomplete issues. If you choose the option to "move to next sprint," Jira will automatically facilitate this process for you.

It is important to note that moving an issue to a sprint is independent of its status. The primary action taken is that Jira will update the Sprint custom field on your issue to reference the next sprint.

The challenges you are encountering may stem from a mismatch between your expectations and the actual process. Please consider the following points:

  • Incomplete issues are those that did not progress to the rightmost column of your board by the time the active sprint was completed.
  • To move issues into the next sprint, it is necessary to have already created that sprint in the backlog of your scrum board prior to closing the current sprint; Jira does not do this automatically.

It is possible that one of these considerations may provide some insight. If not, please provide more specific details regarding your actions when closing a sprint, your current configuration, and your anticipated outcomes. This additional information may help identify the source of the issue.

I hope this information is helpful!

Best regards

Sam
