Hi everyone,
I’m planning my Atlassian certification roadmap and wanted to hear from people who have already taken multiple Atlassian exams.
In your experience, which Atlassian certification exam is the toughest, and why?
I’d love to know:
Which exam you found most difficult
Whether the difficulty was due to scenario-based questions, time pressure, or depth of knowledge
Any surprises compared to expectations or study guides
Your insights will really help me (and others) prepare better.
Thanks in advance!
Hi @Chaitnya BK ,
There's this forum discussion group, Training & Certification, where people tend to post their observations, prep. paths, and feedback about exams they have taken. There are some really useful posts about most of the exams (incl. new ones)
My view on exam thoroughness is probably not a realistic one, as I work with Atlassian apps 8-10 hours a day, so I believe they are all fairly easy 😅
As some other people said, it depends on what your stronger domain/area is and what you may have used or worked with that much. For example, if you're mainly working in Jira (software and business spaces), exams like ACP-620 and ACP-120 will probably be relatively easy compared to the JSM one (if you're not administering that part regularly). 🤔
My path was something like: ACP-620 > ACP-120 > ACP-520 > ACP-420 > ACA exams...
But if you haven't taken any exam yet, I would definitely recommend checking the new Atlassian Certificates. These are free exams where you can get a 'sense' of structure and what you could expect in paid exams. 👈
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Tobi

Hello, Good day. If you are looking to take certification specific to Jira app, then you can go to ACP 620 which has advanced feature queries. Thanks!

Hi @Chaitnya BK
In general the idea for beginners that start journey in certification is to evaluate ACA exams.. however now there would be more ACH certificates which are kind of old "badges" that do not require much preparation if you know the product..
ACP is is getting more difficult but again.. Currently there are a lot of good materials for free that this with some practice gives you everything to pass.
I remember my first exam.. it was when it all started.. Beta mode so it was 120+ questions 3h of time, a very long descriptions and in addition to that had to also provide feedback .. And there was not so many materials (only documentation and knowledge.. ) .. Since then it all evaluated a lot.. Platform also changed .. Kryterion changed to PSI.. now it would change to Certiverse..
Some time ago I wrote an article about how to gain new certificates step by step.. It is in polish but I guess you can easily translate in your browser if you want :)

Overall do not ba afraid.. just prepare and try to get your first one.. then you would want more ;)
