Choosing your first certification can feel confusing because there are so many options available. My advice is to choose based on the job you want, not simply on which certification is most popular.
If your goal is IT support, start with CompTIA A+. For networking, CCNA is a strong choice, especially if you want to work with Cisco technologies. Network+ is another option if you prefer a vendor-neutral networking foundation. If cybersecurity is your main interest, Security+ can help you learn basic security concepts before moving to more advanced certifications.
For cloud careers, AWS and Microsoft Azure both offer beginner-friendly certifications. These can help you understand cloud services and provide a foundation for more advanced cloud roles.
Once you select a certification, create a realistic study schedule. Use official resources, hands-on labs, and practice tests. Cert Mage can be used as an additional practice resource to review topics and identify areas where you need more preparation. Most importantly, make sure you understand the concepts rather than simply memorizing answers.
