I'm utilizing a work management project (cloud) and require the functionality to color-code cards. However, I've been unable to locate this feature within both team and company-managed settings for the project. Despite checking the documentation, specifically an article mentioning the use of this feature under 'Issue link type" section here, I still haven't been able to find it.
Your kind help is highly appreciated.
Thank you
Hi Bayan,
Card colors are not currently available for Jira Work Management project boards. However, you can create a second board as a Jira Software board using issues from the JWM project. And with that board, you can add card colors. Here's an article that will guide you through the process.
Thanks for your answer John,
Do you know if it is possible to create a Board which combines tasks from Service Desk and Work Management?
We want to be able to see our responsive "run" workload and our proactive "build" workload on one board so that we can manage tasks across both incoming and forward-looking initiatives, adjusting efforts for the peaks and troughs with tickets.
I had seen this article but couldn't quite manage it, potentially due to permissions: Create and Manage a Multi-Project Jira Board | Jira Guru (devsamurai.com)
Do you know if it is possible?
Thanks

@Joseph Corina - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
Sure - just see my article above. You will need to create your filter so that it includes the JSM and JWM projects.

Hello John,
Thank you so much :) Creating a new board and adding it to the WM board using a shortcut works great. thank you so much"
Hello Rudy,
Documentation is not straightforward that this is possible but so far it was mentioned under 'Issue link type" section here
Thank you so much for your kind support and help

The document you referenced included a link in that section to another Customize Cards document.
That document is under the Jira Software Resources collection, which is an indication that it applies to Jira Software projects/functionality.
This document under the JWM Resources collection talks about customizing cards in a JWM project.

Hello @Bayan Hashem
Whenever you have referenced some documentation or post that tells you something is possible but you don't seem to be able to do it, it is very helpful if you provide a link to that documentation with your question so that we can see it for ourselves and point out if the context applies to your situation or if the author has provided incorrect information. Can you please provide that link?
As per this unresolved change request, card colors in Team Managed projects are not currently supported:
https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSWCLOUD-17277
And to the best of my knowledge setting card colors is not a feature that was ever incorporated into Jira Work Management. I am not finding a change request for that enhancement in Atlassian's public backlog either.
