We've just had Jira chosen by corporate but no admin access link or tutorials or anything was forwarded on. Where should I start to learn this helpdesk solution enter into the admin view as a member of the team that answers and solves our user helpdesk tickets?

Look to the top right of the screen, you should see a cog icon next to your profile icon. If you do not, then you don't have any admin access, and you will need to talk to your administrators.
But you might not need admin if you are an Agent. Go to your helpdesk project and look to the left-hand column - the link to the project settings is in there.
