Where do I find the "Advanced issue search"? The tutorial is talking about a search box in the upper right:
Perform basic searches.
1. Click the search box in the upper right and select Advanced issue search. This takes you to the Filters section of your site.
2. Click the All issues tab on the left. You should be viewing all of the issues of the projects in your site.
3. Verify that you are in the basic search. You should see a row of interface elements under All issues and a Switch to JQL link to the right. If you see a Switch to basic link, click on it to change from JQL to basic search.
Where in the Cloud UI of Jira is this search box?
Thanks for helping ...
Hi Falk - Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
There are different paths to get there. I usually just click in the large Search box at the top of the screen. Then at the bottom of the page that pops up, click on "View all work items."
This might put you in Basic mode, if so, click on the JQL button next to Basic.
Hi @Falk Fasshauer -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
The "Advanced Issue Search" is now renamed to "Search work items" in Jira Cloud. This was one of the many changes to the UX over the last year or two.
You may find the feature from...
"Issue" has also been renamed to "Work item", and so much of the existing documentation has not caught up with that change yet.
Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Falk Fasshauer welcome to the community. Is it possible you are looking at an article for Jira Data Center? I'm looking at this article on What is Advanced Search and that is working for me. I would call "Advanced Search" a different way of saying JQL Search. Advanced Search lets you build JQL Statements to build JQL queries.
Hope that helps.

Hi guys, thanks for the welcome and your quick responses - I honestly didn’t expect anyone to reply so fast and in the middle of the night. It really helped!
I’m currently working through a Jira course on Coursera to get familiar with the tool. I’ll tackle the rest now and hopefully finish tonight. The course material is from ©2021 Atlassian and clearly not up to date - I hope that won’t turn into a show-stopper.
Thanks again and wishing you all a great Sunday!
Falk
