When work is removed from the backlog what workflow do you use to close the issue in jira?

We are using greenhopper scrum board. When grooming the backlog we may have items which we want to reject/remove and close. Let's say it's just something we are never going to do or it's as designed. How are you handling these situations.

We use a resolution "Rejected" while closing the issue.
