Is there a way to link existing Jira projects to Goals feature? I have Jira Goals feature set up for my projects, but when I look on my project directory it's only some projects but even then they don't have a direct link.
I want to set goals for my existing projects/ Jira project so that we can assign tangible goals to tasks for the team.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Hey @matthew_wootten ,
Are we talking about Atlassian platform projects, or Jira projects (future to be 'spaces')?
If it's the first, you could link the goal to a project. If we look from the Goals perspective, navigate to the goal, open "Projects" tab, and click on "Add project".
This will then result in having a 2-way link between the goal and project in Atlassian Home.
Project view (link to goals) |
Goal view (link to projects) |
Goals, generally, cannot be linked to a Jira project by out-of-the-box features. You can link specific Jira items, but not the whole project. A workaround would be to create goal custom field and simply add the project link there.
Cheers,
Tobi
Hi, thank you for your response. Yes, the intention is to use goals within the Jira project. When reviewing backlog roadmaps, we’d like to be able to assign goals to multiple tickets or features so we can track both progress and delivery against the original goal.
