When moving issues between projects the issue reporter changes from the initial reporter to the person moving the issue.

When moving issues between projects the issue reporter changes from the initial reporter to the person moving the issue. How can we preserve the original reporter, without having to give the issue mover update access to the reporter field and asking him to change it back all the time?

Hi Alan,

For your question, can you verify that the user that move have the modify reporter permission on the destination project.

Another thing to check is the original issue reporter have to possess create issue permission before they can be made default reporter.

Hope this answers :)

I have granted the user the 'Modify Reporter' permission, but we really just wanted the issue moved from one project to another without changing the reporter field (and without giving the mover the Modify Reporter privilege). Is this not possible?
